At some point, she started to stretch her arms (and also the legs to some degree). But she was so small and could not even maintain her body temperature well without the beanie.

It is definitely challenging to raise a newborn. Needing to feed the baby at least every 3 hours means severe sleep deprivation and efforts in general. The amount of house chores also doubles. After 2 months, it gets a bit easier, because the baby would sleep longer than before and you can feed the baby ~6 times a day. Also, the baby starts to interact with the parents and shows good smile sometimes. In the end, we all grew up like this, with lots of sacrifice and care and love. I'm amazed that every human being is raised in this manner. Human babies are so weak.. Still, it is such a fulfilling experience to raise a newborn baby (not to mention that babies are super cute).

One random thought was why there is no vaccine for human mastitis. My wife got mastitis and suffered a lot for more than a week. She took antibiotics swiftly, but the symptom lasted. Her body temperature went up above 39.5 degrees and we eventually went to the emergency, which was a terrible experience. If there was a vaccine for it, we would have definitely taken it. Mastitis is very common among lactating women, estimated to happen one in three of them. Most of the cases, the disease is well cured by antibiotics, but still that first 3 months of newborn baby care is already quite demanding. In the worst case, it can develop into a complication called abscess, which needs surgical intervention.
